What to Expect

At Nelson Reservoir, we primarily target pike and walleye, but depending on the bite, we’ll also go after perch and crappie. Trips are adjusted to the best available opportunities — whether that means trolling, jigging, or mixing in a bit of both.

Springtime pike and walleye can be especially active, offering exciting action before the heat of summer sets in. As water temperatures rise, fishing remains steady but may require a little more patience and precision — that’s where your guide’s local knowledge comes in.

Your trip will depart from the Nelson Boat Ramp at the agreed-upon time. Each charter runs about 8 hours, with time set aside for processing your catch.

We encourage selective harvest to help maintain the health of this incredible fishery — keeping Nelson productive for future anglers.

All fishing gear is provided on Lars’s boat — including rods, reels, and tackle.
Please bring your own food and drinks for the day. Alcohol is allowed in moderation.
